Yiqiu3D SUNSENK Glow-in-the-Dark PLA Filament 1.75mm 1kg Rainbow Night-Glow, 8 Luminous Colors, Bambu Lab

Brand: Yiqiu3D · Safety markers that only work with the lights on are the usual failure: a wayfinding sign, a switch surround or a stair marker that cannot be found in a dark corridor has not done its job. This phosphorescent PLA is charged by ordinary room or daylight and then gives a soft glow in the dark, while the Lime Green tone stays a clear, high-visibility green in normal light - so a marker is findable in a blackout and readable in daylight with the same printed plate.

  • The colour has to survive the daylight test too. Glow compounds are often a muted off-white by day and only look green in the dark
  • this Lime Green grade keeps a saturated green surface under normal light
  • A signage set is usually printed as a batch

Quick Answer

Why is this glow green better suited to safety markers than a plain glow filament?

Because the colour still works with the lights on. The pigment is charged by light and then emits a soft glow in the dark, while the Lime Green surface stays a saturated green in daylight, so the same printed marker is readable in a lit workshop and findable in a dark corridor. The luminous effect is a pigment and surface effect of the PLA strand; there is no metal or abrasive filler in it, so a standard nozzle and a standard PLA profile are all that is needed.

Best for: Great for promotional gifts and decorative pieces that must stay visible in low light - available in 9 colours; 1kg spools. Not ideal for: Not suited to tight-tolerance assemblies; better on decorative or low-stress applications - available in 9 colours; 1kg spools.

this Lime Green grade keeps a saturated green surface under normal light, so wayfinding tags, tool markers and machine labels stay readable in a lit workshop while still carrying the luminous effect after dark. The luminous behaviour is a pigment effect of the strand itself - nothing metallic is added, so the profile and print behaviour stay ordinary PLA.

A signage set is usually printed as a batch, not as one piece, so consistency matters more than a single perfect print. This filament holds a 1.75 mm round profile on a round spool, 1 kg net filament per spool and approx. 335 m of strand per spool, which is enough footage for a full set of door and aisle markers from one spool. The the nozzle figure confirmed for this grade sits inside the standard PLA window your machines already run.

Best fit: safety signage and wayfinding markers, exit and aisle tags, switch and panel surrounds, emergency-kit labels, tool and shelf markers, industrial warning labels, and event or promotional pieces that have to stay visible in low light. The part stays visible in dim light, not in total darkness. This grade is not suited to tight-tolerance assemblies and is not the weather-grade choice for permanent outdoor exposure, where the pigment ages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this glow green better suited to safety markers than a plain glow filament?
Because the colour still works with the lights on. The pigment is charged by light and then emits a soft glow in the dark, while the Lime Green surface stays a saturated green in daylight, so the same printed marker is readable in a lit workshop and findable in a dark corridor. The luminous effect is a pigment and surface effect of the PLA strand; there is no metal or abrasive filler in it, so a standard nozzle and a standard PLA profile are all that is needed.
Will it run on my printer, and which machines is it used on?
It is 1.75 mm filament on a round spool, so it runs on the usual 1.75 mm FDM machines - Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Artillery and equivalent direct-drive or Bowden setups, with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle and the PLA profile you already use. No hardened nozzle is required, because the strand carries no abrasive filler. We do not publish a printer compatibility list for this code beyond the 1.75 mm format, so confirm it on your own fleet with a paid trial order.
What nozzle and bed settings do you recommend?
Run the nozzle at, with the setting confirmed for your application. That is the figure this grade is produced and tested to, so start there and only adjust inside the PLA window if your own hotend reads differently. Bed adhesion depends on the surface you print on: on a clean textured PEI plate a standard PLA first layer works in our test prints without adhesion aids. We do not publish a bed temperature figure for this grade, so keep the setting your own PLA profile already uses.
What is the net weight and the length of one spool?
1 kg net filament per spool on a round spool at a 1.75 mm round profile, approx. 335 m of strand per spool. The 1 kg is the net filament weight; the packed carton is heavier because it includes the spool, the vacuum bag and the box. Both the 1 kg and the approx. 335 m figure repeat from spool to spool inside one production run, which is what a signage set needs.
Which colours are in the range, and how stable are they between batches?
The Lime Green grade leads the range; Glow Rainbow Moon, Glow Rainbow Pearl White and Glow Blue Pearl White, plus green, blue and candy-rainbow glow variants, are listed in the same series, 9 colourways in total. Colour is held by masterbatch rather than by eye and the same extrusion line runs the whole order, so a repeat order in the same colour code comes out of the same colour lot. For a signage programme that must match across sites, release the whole quantity as one lot.
What should I use this filament for?
Safety and visibility work: wayfinding and aisle markers, exit and door tags, switch and panel surrounds, emergency-kit labels, tool and shelf markers, industrial warning labels, and event or promotional pieces that must stay visible in low light. It is a PLA with a glow pigment, so it is not suited to tight-tolerance assemblies, load-bearing brackets or hinges, and it is not the grade for permanent outdoor exposure where the pigment ages faster.
How is it packed, and how should I store it?
Every spool ships vacuum-sealed in a foil bag with a desiccant pack inside a plain export carton, and spools are individually bagged in the larger cartons. Keep spools sealed until use; once one is open, store it in a dry box or a sealed container with desiccant, out of direct sun. PLA takes up moisture slowly, but a damp spool strings more and prints a duller surface - and a duller surface is exactly what costs a marker its visibility.
