Dual Color Matte PLA Filament 1.75mm 1kg Yiqiu3D Two-Tone

Brand: Yiqiu3D · Model: Matte PLA 1.75mm 1kg · Cosplay armour and decorative parts often look flat and plasticky because the surface is glossy and single-tone. This dual colour matte PLA carries two tones in one strand, so the shade shifts along the layer height of the print and adds depth without a second extruder. The matte finish scatters light instead of reflecting it, which softens layer lines in photos and reads like painted fabric on camera.

Quick Answer

How do you get two colours from one spool?

The two tones sit side by side inside the strand, so the nozzle deposits both at once and the visible shift follows the layer direction of the print. One extruder and one spool are enough - no multi-material unit is needed. The matte finish blurs the boundary between the tones, which is what gives the surface its fabric-like look.

Is it right for my project?

Best for: For decorative and cosplay prints where a two-tone shift along the layer adds visual impact - available in 9 colours. Not ideal for: Not for parts needing uniform colour or strict dimensional control; use single-colour PLA or PETG - available in 9 colours.

Product highlights

3 reasons

Nine matte references are stocked: Crayon Rainbow Color, Dopamine Color, White, Olive, Black, Red, Carmine Red, Yellow and Silver. Each reference is wound on a standard plastic spool with the colour name on the label, so a reorder can be placed against the same reference rather than matched by eye.

Recorded parameters: diameter 1.75 mm, round spool profile, net weight 1 kg per roll, recommended nozzle temperature 220 °C. Matte pigment thickens the melt slightly and narrows the process window compared with plain PLA, so holding the temperature steady and keeping part cooling on gives a uniform matte surface instead of glossy patches.

Runs on standard 1.75 mm FDM printers with a 0.4 mm nozzle and no enclosure, and needs no AMS or dual extruder: load one spool and the two-tone shift happens by itself. Two perimeters read the tone change most clearly, and the matte surface needs no sanding before a photo or a trade-show display.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get two colours from one spool?
The two tones sit side by side inside the strand, so the nozzle deposits both at once and the visible shift follows the layer direction of the print. One extruder and one spool are enough - no multi-material unit is needed. The matte finish blurs the boundary between the tones, which is what gives the surface its fabric-like look.
Is this compatible with my printer?
It prints on standard 1.75 mm FDM machines, including Bambu Lab, Creality and Prusa-style printers. No AMS, no dual extruder and no enclosure are required. The roll uses the common plastic spool format and fits standard spool holders.
Which temperature should I set?
The recorded recommended nozzle temperature for this grade is 220 °C. Use a 0.4 mm nozzle and keep part cooling on for an even matte surface. Slower outer walls deepen the matte effect; very fast outer walls make the surface read glossier.
What is the net weight of one roll?
Each roll is recorded at 1 kg net weight in our packing data and carries a 1.75 mm round strand on a standard plastic spool. No length figure is quoted for this grade - ask us for the metre count of the specific colour you need and we will confirm it from the winding record.
Which colours are available, and which one is shown?
Nine matte references are stocked: Crayon Rainbow Color, Dopamine Color, White, Olive, Black, Red, Carmine Red, Yellow and Silver. The lead colour shown in the product photos is Crayon Rainbow Color, and every reference carries its colour name on the spool label.
What are the best applications for dual colour matte PLA?
Typical uses: cosplay armour and props, decorative figurines and vases, lamp shades, sign lettering and shop display pieces, and any decorative print where a two-tone surface is part of the design. It is not the right grade for parts that must be one uniform colour or hold tight dimensional tolerance - use a single-colour PLA there.
How should I store the spool after opening?
Spools ship vacuum sealed with desiccant inside a printed box. Once opened, keep the roll in a sealed container away from sunlight and damp air, and leave the desiccant pack with it. Matte surfaces show moisture defects early as bubbles and a dull cloudy patch, so dry the roll before a long cosmetic print if it has been open for weeks.
