Reinforced PLA PETG GF CF Filament 1.75mm

Brand: Yiqiu3D · Carbon-filled PLA is chosen for one reason: a plain PLA bracket keeps its shape on the bench and then creeps, bows or warps under load long before it wears out. This grade is a fibre-reinforced PLA composite - short carbon fibre carried in the PLA matrix - so stiffness and creep resistance come from the reinforcement itself, not from a thicker wall. Fibre-filled filament is abrasive: run a hardened or steel nozzle, because brass will wear at the orifice.

  • Black carbon-filled look with a satin
  • the same range carries dark carbon tones and light glass-fibre tones
  • A reinforced spool is only useful if it runs on the machine you already own. This grade prints inside the ordinary PLA profile - 195-225 °C nozzle temperature - on standard 1.75mm FDM hardware

Quick Answer

What exactly is Carbon Fiber PLA, and how is it different from standard PLA?

It is a PLA composite: short carbon fibre is carried inside the PLA matrix, so stiffness and creep resistance come from the fibre reinforcement rather than from a thicker wall. That is why a carbon-filled bracket or jig holds its shape under load where plain PLA relaxes and bows. The trade-off is abrasion - the fibre wears brass nozzles, so a hardened or steel nozzle is recommended. It prints in the ordinary PLA temperature window, 195-225 °C.

Product highlights

3 reasons

Black carbon-filled look with a satin, non-glossy surface. The fibre-filled wall reads matte, so layer lines and tool marks do not flash back at the camera the way a glossy black spool does - useful for visible brackets, machine covers and display parts. Lead colour is Black Carbon Fiber

the same range carries dark carbon tones and light glass-fibre tones, nine colour options in total.

A reinforced spool is only useful if it runs on the machine you already own. This grade prints inside the ordinary PLA profile - 195-225 °C nozzle temperature - on standard 1.75mm FDM hardware, so no firmware or hotend change is needed beyond a hardened nozzle for the abrasive fill. One kg net filament per spool, sealed against moisture, so the stiffness gain does not arrive as a wet, popping strand.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is Carbon Fiber PLA, and how is it different from standard PLA?
It is a PLA composite: short carbon fibre is carried inside the PLA matrix, so stiffness and creep resistance come from the fibre reinforcement rather than from a thicker wall. That is why a carbon-filled bracket or jig holds its shape under load where plain PLA relaxes and bows. The trade-off is abrasion - the fibre wears brass nozzles, so a hardened or steel nozzle is recommended. It prints in the ordinary PLA temperature window, 195-225 °C.
Which printers and nozzles does this filament run on?
Standard 1.75mm FDM printers with a PLA-capable hotend: Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Elegoo and similar machines. Because the material is fibre-reinforced and therefore abrasive, we recommend a hardened steel nozzle in place of brass, with normal wear-part replacement intervals. No firmware change is required - slice it on your usual PLA profile and adjust temperature inside 195-225 °C.
What print temperature should I use?
Nozzle temperature 195-225 °C. Start mid-range on your machine and tune by layer adhesion and surface finish; run the lower end for finer detail and the upper end for stronger layer bonding. With a hardened nozzle the flow is stable across that window. Let the part cool on the plate before removal so the reinforced wall is not stressed while it is still soft.
How much filament is on one spool, and how far does it go?
1 kg net filament per spool in 1.75mm diameter - approximately 335 metres of strand. Actual mileage depends on model density, wall count and infill percentage, so quote from your slicer estimate for the part rather than from an average. Spools are wound to a consistent pattern, so the last metre feeds as cleanly as the first.
Which colours are available in this range?
The carbon-fibre colours are Black Carbon Fiber (lead colour), Graphite Gray Carbon Fiber, Cyan Carbon Fiber and Mocha Carbon Fiber; the same catalogue also covers glass-fibre colours in White, Gray and Black - nine colour options in total. Fibre-filled colours are matte, not glossy. Tell us the colour mix you need and we will quote the closest available match.
What are the typical applications for carbon fibre reinforced PLA?
Jigs, holding fixtures, brackets, machine guards, drone and RC frames, and functional prototypes where stiffness or creep resistance matters more than gloss. It is a good route for shop-floor tooling that must keep its shape through repeated use. It is not a certified structural grade and is not suited to safety-critical or high-temperature service - contact us and we will advise on the right grade.
How is the filament packed and stored?
Every spool is vacuum-sealed with a desiccant sachet inside, so it arrives dry and ready to print. Store unused spools between 15 and 25 °C, out of direct sunlight, and reseal the bag or use a dry container once opened. A fibre-filled strand that has taken on moisture pops at the nozzle and prints a rough, weaker wall, so keep opened spools dry.
