Yiqiu3D PLA 1.75mm

Brand: Yiqiu3D · Two-colour printing normally means two spools, an AMS or a manual swap, and a hard seam where the change lands. This dual colour PLA is co-extruded: two pigment streams leave the nozzle side by side inside a single strand, so one spool on one printer produces a genuine two-tone surface - a blue and green edge on every layer, outlining every top face, with no second spool, no purge tower and no stop to intervene in. Nozzle 190-220 °C. 1 kg net filament per spool.

Quick Answer

How is a dual colour filament made, and is the two-tone effect a coating?

Two differently pigmented PLA melt streams are fed through the same die and leave the nozzle bonded side by side inside one 1.75 mm strand, so the two colours are part of the filament rather than a coating on it. That construction has a practical consequence for design work: the split follows the extrusion path, so a single-wall shell shows the two tones running parallel, while a solid part alternates them between layers. The tones cannot flake or rub off, and sanding or machining a part exposes the same two colours underneath. It is a decorative PLA; nozzle temperature 190-220 °C.

Nine two-tone combinations: Blue Green, Gold Purple, Yellow Green, Red Green, Red Blue, Black Green, Red Gold, Gold and Silver, and Gold and Silver and Bronze. Gold, Silver and Bronze are colour names for the pigmented PLA

this is a plastic decorative filament and contains no metal. Two tones on one strand give a printed edge to nameplates, keyrings, gift items and signage with no post-print painting. Blue Green is the lead colour and all 9 swatches are shown in the colour image.

Diameter 1.75 mm, 1 kg net filament per spool on a standard round spool. Nozzle temperature 190-220 °C. The two pigment streams are combined during extrusion, so the split does not depend on slicer settings: a single-wall print shows the two tones side by side, and a thicker wall shows them in alternation. Both the diameter band and the pairing of the two tones are held from spool to spool, which keeps a repeat order on the same look.

No heated bed is required and no drying step is needed before the first print. Run it exactly like a single-colour PLA: no dual-extruder machine, no mixing hotend, no filament-changing hardware and no slicer dual-material profile. Because the colour split is created in the nozzle, a standard PLA profile is enough. Close the bag between jobs and keep the spool in a dry box so the two tones stay bright and the surface stays clean across a gift-production run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it need a dual-extruder printer or a filament changer?
No. The two colours are already combined inside the strand, so it runs on any single-extruder FDM printer that accepts 1.75 mm material and a 1 kg spool, including Bambu Lab X1 and P1 class, Creality Ender class, Prusa, Anycubic and Elegoo machines. There is no second spool, no AMS or multi-material unit, no purge tower and no mid-print swap, and the ordinary PLA profile on your machine is a valid starting point. No heated bed value is quoted for this product because the spool data does not specify one.
What settings give the cleanest two-tone result?
Nozzle temperature 190-220 °C. A 0.16 mm to 0.24 mm layer height keeps the two tones crisp, and for gift items and keyrings a 0.2 mm layer is a good balance of detail and print time. The split reads most clearly on a part with a visible single-wall edge or a lettered face; very thin layers make the tones blend visually, and a very thick layer makes the banding stronger than the design. Moderate part cooling gives the cleanest surface. No heated bed is required.
How much filament is on one spool, and how many small items does it make?
1 kg net filament per spool of 1.75 mm PLA. As an orientation figure for planning, the strand cross-section and the density of PLA place one kilogram in the region of 330 to 340 metres, so we quote approx. 335 m. For gift and souvenir work that is a long run of small parts - keyrings, name badges, coasters, small ornaments - since most of them consume only a few grams each. Cost from 1 kg net filament per spool.
Which colour pairs are available, and are Gold, Silver and Bronze real metal?
Nine pairs: Blue Green, Gold Purple, Yellow Green, Red Green, Red Blue, Black Green, Red Gold, Gold and Silver, and Gold and Silver and Bronze. Blue Green is the lead colour. Gold, Silver and Bronze are colour names for pigmented PLA; the filament is plastic and contains no metal, and we do not describe it as a metal material. The full swatch set is shown in the colour image, and mixed colour cartons with a per-pair ratio are standard for trial orders.
What should I print with a dual colour filament?
Decorative work where the two-tone edge is the selling point: keyrings, name badges and luggage tags, coasters, gift boxes and small ornaments, sign lettering and house numbers, cake toppers, cosplay accents, model kits and school project pieces. The effect is strongest on parts with a visible single-wall rim or a raised letter face, where the two colours outline the shape. It is an appearance filament rather than a structural one, so use another grade for load-bearing brackets or hot-service parts.
How is the spool packed, and how should I store it?
Every spool ships vacuum sealed in a foil bag with a desiccant pack inside a printed carton, so it arrives dry and ready to print. PLA absorbs atmospheric moisture slowly; once the bag is open, keep the spool in the resealable bag or a dry box between jobs, because damp filament prints with a rougher surface and can pop at the nozzle, which shows up quickly on decorative parts. Store flat, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. If a spool has been open in humid air for a long period, dry it a few hours at 50-60 °C before use.
