Yiqiu3D Glow-in-the-Dark PLA Pearl Series 1.75mm 250g Light Purple White Pearl 3D Filament Bambu Lab Creality

Brand: Yiqiu3D · Model: PLA YG 029 Glow in the Dark · Daylight is where most glow filament loses the sale: the model sits on the shelf as a chalky off-white slab and the buyer never gets to see what they paid for. This phosphorescent PLA is charged by light and then gives a soft glow in the dark, and the Clear Sky blue still reads as a clean sky blue under normal light, so the same decorative piece carries the display in the daytime, in a dim room, and after the lights go down. 250 g net filament per spool, vacuum-sealed.

Quick Answer

What makes this grade glow rather than a plain sky-blue PLA?

It is a PLA-based filament carrying a phosphorescent pigment: the pigment is charged by light and then emits a soft glow in the dark, while the base colour stays a clean sky blue in daylight. The effect is a pigment and surface effect; there is no metal or abrasive filler in the strand, so the nozzle, the temperature and the print behaviour stay the same as ordinary PLA. 250 g net filament per spool, 1.75 mm round profile, approx. 85 m per spool.

Product highlights

2 reasons

Glow pigment changes how a melt behaves, and a spool that snags halfway through a night run is a wasted plate. This filament holds a 1.75 mm round profile wound evenly on a round spool, approx. 85 m of strand per spool, so a long decorative run finishes on the same strand without a crossed layer. The the nozzle setting confirmed for this grade sits inside the standard PLA window, and the finished part keeps the layer detail of a normal PLA print.

Keep the glow grade for pieces that are seen, not loaded: phosphorescent display models, decorative signage, night-light housings, figurine and prop accents, kid-room accessories that should stay findable in the dark, and shop-window pieces where the glow is the selling feature. It is a PLA and a pigment, so keep it off structural or load-bearing parts, out of a hot car or a hot enclosure, and out of long direct sun and long outdoor exposure, where the glow pigment ages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this grade glow rather than a plain sky-blue PLA?
It is a PLA-based filament carrying a phosphorescent pigment: the pigment is charged by light and then emits a soft glow in the dark, while the base colour stays a clean sky blue in daylight. The effect is a pigment and surface effect; there is no metal or abrasive filler in the strand, so the nozzle, the temperature and the print behaviour stay the same as ordinary PLA. 250 g net filament per spool, 1.75 mm round profile, approx. 85 m per spool.
Will it run on my printer, and which machines is it used on?
It is 1.75 mm filament on a round spool, so it runs on the usual 1.75 mm FDM machines - Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Artillery and equivalent direct-drive or Bowden setups, with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle and the PLA profile you already use. No hardened nozzle is needed because the filament carries no abrasive filler. We do not publish a printer compatibility list for this code beyond the 1.75 mm format, so a paid trial order is the way to confirm it on your own fleet.
What nozzle and bed settings do you recommend?
Run the nozzle at, with the setting confirmed for your application. That single figure is what the grade is produced and tested to, so start there and adjust within the PLA window on your own machine only if your hotend reads differently. Bed adhesion depends on the surface you print on: on a clean textured PEI plate a standard PLA first layer works in our test prints without adhesion aids. We do not publish a bed temperature figure for this grade, so keep the setting your own PLA profile already uses.
What is the net weight and the length of one spool?
250 g net filament per spool on a round spool at a 1.75 mm round profile, approx. 85 m of strand per spool. The 250 g is the net filament weight; the packed carton is heavier because it includes the spool, the vacuum bag and the box. Both the 250 g and the approx. 85 m figure repeat from spool to spool inside one production run.
Which glow colours can I order, and how stable are they between batches?
The Clear Sky blue leads the range; Glow Qinghe, Glow Light Purple, Glow Pearl White and a glow combo pack are listed in the same series, 5 colourways in total. Colour is held by masterbatch rather than by eye and the same extrusion line runs the whole order, so a repeat order in the same colour code comes out of the same colour lot. Glow pigment settles slightly differently when it is dispersed, so a repeat decoration order should be released as one lot rather than split across two runs.
What should I use this filament for?
Pieces that are meant to be seen: phosphorescent display models, decorative signage, night-light housings, figurine and prop accents, kid-room accessories that should stay findable in the dark, and shop-window pieces where the glow is the selling feature. Because it is a PLA with a pigment, it is not the grade for structural or load-bearing parts, and its glow pigment ages - keep it out of a hot car or a hot enclosure and out of long outdoor exposure, where a weather-grade polymer does the job better.
How is it packed, and how should I store it?
Every spool ships vacuum-sealed in a foil bag with a desiccant pack inside a plain export carton, and spools are individually bagged in the larger cartons. Keep spools sealed until use; once one is open, store it in a dry box or a sealed container with desiccant, out of direct sun. PLA takes up moisture slowly, but a damp spool strings more and prints a duller surface, and the glow surface is the product here.
