Marble PLA Filament

Brand: Yiqiu3D · Marble-look filament usually fails one way: the effect is so softly blended that at any distance the part just reads grey, losing the stone presence it was printed for. This marble PLA is built the other way round - an opaque black base with fine white veining through the strand - so the pattern reads clearly on flat panels, curved vases and thin walls alike. The veining comes from pigment inside the PLA plastic, not a top coating.

Quick Answer

How does the veined effect work, and does the pattern repeat exactly?

The veining comes from pigments and surface behaviour inside the PLA strand, so the marble pattern is printed with the part and runs through the surface rather than sitting on top as a coating or a film. The material is PLA plastic, not stone, ceramic or a mineral-filled composite. Because the pattern comes from the strand, the veining falls differently on every part, so two vases from the same spool are never identical.

Product highlights

3 reasons

The pair in this offer gives a decor range its two visual registers. Black Veins is the dramatic one: dense white veining over a deep black ground, close in feel to polished marble or terrazzo, which suits statement vases, trays, lamp bases, retail display props and architectural models where the surface is the selling point. Marble Brown is the warm, calmer tone for interiors and furniture styling. Both are printed from the same base PLA on the same profile.

A veined surface punishes inconsistency. The strand is a 1.75mm round profile wound on a round spool in one continuous length, with approximately 335 m of filament on each 1 kg net filament per spool, so a run prints from a single spool without a splice line appearing in the middle of a veined panel. Because the diameter is held across the run, the pattern flows evenly over layer steps instead of breaking up where the surface shifts.

A decor studio should not have to change hardware to add a marble tone. Nozzle window confirmed for your application with a 1.75mm filament path and a standard 0.4mm nozzle covers Bambu Lab, Creality and Prusa style desktop FDM printers, and no heated chamber is required. No heated-bed temperature is published for this series, so keep the PLA bed setting already in use. Because the pattern is the product, settle retraction and cooling on the first piece so the veined surface is clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the veined effect work, and does the pattern repeat exactly?
The veining comes from pigments and surface behaviour inside the PLA strand, so the marble pattern is printed with the part and runs through the surface rather than sitting on top as a coating or a film. The material is PLA plastic, not stone, ceramic or a mineral-filled composite. Because the pattern comes from the strand, the veining falls differently on every part, so two vases from the same spool are never identical.
How is this different from a light grey marble PLA?
The contrast and the base tone. Here the ground colour is opaque black with white veining over it, which gives a much stronger graphic reading than pale grey marble shades, where the veins sit close in value to the background and can look washed out at a distance. Choose this when the piece has to stand out on a shelf or in a photograph; pale grey systems suit quiet, neutral interiors.
What print settings do you recommend for a clean veined surface?
Use a nozzle window confirmed for your application with a 1.75mm filament path and a standard 0.4mm nozzle. No heated-bed temperature is published for this series, so keep the PLA bed setting your machine already runs. Moderate part cooling keeps the contrast crisp. Settle flow, retraction and layer height on the first piece, because stringing and blobs are far more visible on a veined surface than on a plain colour.
How much filament is on one spool, and what does that print?
1 kg net filament per spool at 1.75mm diameter, approximately 335 m of strand on a round spool, wound in one continuous length with no splice in the middle of a panel. For decor work that covers a set of vases, planters, trays or lamp bases, so a small collection can be costed per spool rather than per piece. The spool drops into a standard holder or dry box.
Which tones are available in this marble range?
This offer lists two tones: Black Veins, a deep black ground with white veining and the lead shade of this offer, and Marble Brown, a warmer brown stone tone. Both are produced from the same base PLA and print on the same profile, so a decor range can be ordered together in one material and one settings set. Further shade names are confirmed with the supplier per order.
What can I print with a high-contrast marble PLA?
Indoor decorative and display work: vases, planters, trays, bowls, lamp bases, sculptures, furniture and shelf accessories, retail display props, and architectural or scale models where the surface material has to read immediately. It is not intended for load-bearing parts, for continuous heat, or for outdoor exposure, and it is not the grade for hot-car interiors - a different material is the right choice there.
How are the spools packed, and how should they be stored?
Spools are vacuum sealed with desiccant before shipment and packed in cartons. Keep the spool sealed until use, then store it closed with desiccant below 30 °C and below 50 percent relative humidity, out of direct sunlight. Moisture causes popping and a dull, uneven surface, and on a veined part that dullness blurs the contrast the whole effect depends on, so dry an open spool before a decor run.
